This idea I thought was best at answering the I'm a Mac or I'm a PC. I thought the first of a series could start at one of the top500 running Linux. Start with whomever is in charge talking about the server they oversee. Then have them walk into the room with the servers, to get the sound and enormity. In subtext on screen list how many windows servers are in top 500, then macs, then Linux

* Get a list of *all* the Linux Distros (keep adding the new ones as and when they pop)
* Poll every fortnight as to which will be featured in the coming week.
* The users of the featured distro can highlight all the pros and cons about the distro; what special features does it have, how is it differe Read More »

Many of the avid Linux users still keep their systems dual boot due to mainly one reason: Gaming. Many of the games working well on Windows can be run on Linux using Wine but the efficiency aint that good. The graphics is crappy and the experience is pretty bad.
So how about choosing a new Linux game or Cross platform game or any other OS game which runs extremely well on Linux through Wine, e Read More »

Open as root from GUI menus

To access programs with root privileges I need to go to a terminal...
The main idea of this is that when you press ctrl on the keyboard while click on the program you want to run on the menu, you open it with root privileges.
There would be no need of going to the terminal to get this access and it will be a lot easier for newcomers. This trick could apply to any GUI. Read More »

United Linux distribution is great. Installation of Linux should go like this: If Random J Hacker wants to use Linux, he does not spend weeks in finding a distribution, but simply just download a "net install for GNU/Linux system", chooses the Kernel that fits the age of his machine, chooses kernel modules for his machine to load, chooses desktop, applications, and clicks OK.
