Posted by j0sh 200 days ago
Host a daily competition to award a "Coolest Desktop of the Day" (can be weekly, monthly, whatever). Windows users who visit Linux.com will be able to see for themselves how amazing Linux can really look, that it's not just a difficult command line interface, and eventually drive the FUD out of their minds. developer and user gap

Posted by phpdan 228 days ago
Since Linux is all about open source, I think the focus for the new linux.com website should be centered on the relationship between users and developers.

Users: educating them about developers/development and the gnu/linux system

Developers: educating them about users, requirements

One thing that I have always felt missing in the open source world is a giant knowledge base that is direc Read More »

linux.com welcome page

Posted by mshelby1 255 days ago
I like the sparse look of the new welcome page. Please keep it simple. Learn from Google. If linux.com will be the main source for Linux info and help, then the welcome screen should only serve to drive the visitor into the proper menu choice subsystem. It should not overwhelm the already overwhelmed user who is seeking help! Looking forward to the changes! Read More »
